welcome to S-G

Serving nearly 3,000 students in the
village of Scotia and towns of Glenville, Amsterdam and Charlton in New York's
Capital Region and Mohawk River valley.

what's new at S-G

Scotia-Glenville was ranked 13th out of 85 area school districts by the Capital District Business Review in its Sept. 26 issue. Last year, S-G ranked 19th.

The community will consider a $26.76 million building project during a Dec. 16 vote. Voting will be held from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the High School, Sacandaga Road.

Absentee ballot applications are available in the district business office, 382-1222. They must be returned by 5 p.m. on Dec. 16.

On Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Middle School, Appel Osborne Landscape Architects will discuss artificial turf fields.

The project would raise taxes by a maximum of 1.9 percent phased in over three years. That amounts to a maximum of less than $60 per year phased in over three years.

The presentation from the Saturday, Nov. 15, Community Forum is available here.

The audio file from the Nov. 15 Community Forum is also available for listening on the Facilities/EXCEL project homepage.

A formal public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8 at the Middle School.

The project would upgrade the high school and middle school libraries, renovate 50-year-old and 34-year-old classrooms, expand science labs at the middle school, install solar panels on Sacandaga Elementary and install synthetic turf to create a multi-sport field on the current football field.

Check out project details here.
